Annual and Interim Reporting Obligations

At Case Western Reserve University, researchers should review the terms and conditions of their Notice of Award (NOA) so they are aware of all reporting obligations. These might include:

  • Financial obligations: Financial reporting is completed by the Office of Post-Award Services and Agreements (PASA) in the Office of Research Administration in coordination with your department administrator and approved by the principal investigator (PI)
  • Performance or technical obligations (annual and interim): Submission methods vary by sponsor. For instance, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) uses eRA Commons for submitting NIH Research Performance Progress Reports (RPPR); the National Science Foundation (NSF) uses research.gov, research.gov for NSF; or methods specific to the sponsor through PASA. Request for the submission of progress reports is completed through SpartaGrants. Please see SpartaGrants’ Canvas site for more specific information. Tips to Ensure Continued Good Stewardship of an Award

  • If an anticipated continuation award would require a new speedtype and the award documentation is not received, a preliminary speedtype should be requested via Sparta.
  • If an anticipated continuation award would not require a new speedtype and the award documentation not received, a petition to keep the speedtype open should be requested via Sparta.
