General Bulletin Editing

Overview

The General Bulletin is an annually published, point-in-time compilation of the university's departments, degree programs, and requirements, as well as a catalog of courses that departments can offer during a given academic year. The catalog of courses is sourced directly from the Student Information System (SIS). The General Bulletin serves as official documentation of academic structure, programs, credentials, and course offerings as of the beginning of an academic year.

Editing

The General Bulletin follows an annual publishing cycle and is open for edits once a year. During the editing window, bulletin editors can make changes to bulletin content: school, department, and program overview information; faculty, and policies. For changes to academic program requirements, please refer to Program Changes, below.

Program Information

The General Bulletin displays academic program details from Program Action Forms (PAFs). PAF content cannot be changed through the bulletin editing process; changes must go through established curriculum change processes. Please note: when reviewing the draft bulletin, page editors will see proposed program content changes, however bulletin approvers will see only the latest fully approved program information.

Program Changes

The Program Action Form is required when creating a new or requesting changes to an existing program (degree/university certificate/major/minor, concentration/track/field of study, or dual degree). Faculty and staff have access to the Program Action Form.

Program Action Forms may be submitted at any time, and must be fully approved for changes to appear in the General Bulletin. Although the duration of approval workflows varies by school and type of change, the target submission date each year is February 1 for program changes to be reflected in the General Bulletin of the following academic year.
