CWRU Law Alumna and Cleveland Municipal Court Judge Administers Oath to Class of 2024

Michelle Earley

On Friday, Aug. 20, the Honorable Michelle Earley (LAW '99), administrative and presiding judge of the Cleveland Municipal Court, presented remarks at the Linsalata Alumni Center to the 146 incoming Case Western Reserve University School of Law JD students. She offered personal insights into the legal profession and administered the Law School’s Professionalism Oath to incoming 1L students. She also administered an Oath of Legal Intern to the 50 3L students enrolled in the school’s nine law clinics this fall. This enables them to practice law first chair under the mentorship of a supervising professor.

“We are so fortunate to be able to kick off the school year with the inspiring words of one of our most respected and impactful alums, Chief Judge Earley,” said Dean Michael Scharf.

Following the program, each student from the Class of 2024 signed their name to a large copy of the professionalism oath, which will be mounted in the law school along with the signed oaths of the 2L and 3L classes.
