Alaina leads a team responsible for driving impactful university communications at CWRU, with a focus on digital platforms including feature articles, the news hub, priority websites, and emails. She plays a central role in shaping and executing the university’s communications strategy to enhance visibility and elevate the institutional brand.
Her background spans journalism, social media, and communications, including an award-winning reporting career in Ketchikan, Alaska—where she was primarily an arts and education reporter at a daily newspaper—and previous roles at Ohio University. She began her journalism career after graduating from The Ohio State University and working for a newspaper group in rural Ohio, where she covered news for five publications. She is currently pursuing a Master of Nonprofit Organizations at CWRU. Outside of work, she enjoys being walked by her fluffy golden retriever, Tarly, and volunteering with Lake Metroparks.
