Writing Resource Center (WRC)

The Writing Resource Center will re-open for the Fall Term on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012. Students may begin scheduling appointments during the weekend prior to our opening day.

Welcome

The Writing Resource Center (WRC) at Case Western Reserve University provides supplemental, discipline-specific writing instruction to students of all levels at the university. Our writing consultants work one-on-one with students on a wide variety of projects.  We encourage visits from students at any stage of the writing process, from brainstorming and
drafting, to revising and organizing, to sharpening expression.  While we also work with students on issues of mechanics and grammar, we are not a proofreading service.  Our consultants work collaboratively with students to assist them in becoming better writers.

Writing Center Hours

During fall and spring semesters, WRC hours range from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Students may schedule appointments at any of our locations and online through the WC Online scheduling system.

Locations

The Writing Center is located in Room 104, Bellflower Hall. (Building 5A on the Campus Map). We also have satellite locations on the 4th floor of Nord Hall, the 1st floor of Kelvin Smith Library, the Thwing Atrium (please note: this space is accessible by stairs only), and in the SAGES Café. The nursing student writing tutor is located in the Student Services Office of the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing.

Online Tutoring is also available.

During the academic year, undergraduates also have the option of making appointments with the SAGES Peer Writing Crew, a group of SAGES veterans with expertise in writing and writing instruction.
