This Commitment
Under the guidance of its recently appointed president, Barbara R. Snyder, Case Western Reserve University seeks to strengthen its impact in education, research and service to society. Central to this commitment is the development of strategic plans for the institution and its major academic and administrative units to identify key priorities for the years ahead.

the Foundation
Led by the provost's office with wide participation from faculty, staff, students and others, the planning process is designed to produce a draft document for consideration by the university's Board of Trustees in 2008. The final plan will focus on four areas of interdisciplinary alliance: energy and the environment; human health; culture, creativity and design; and social justice and ethics.
