Rarely do the eyes of the entire nation fall on Northeast Ohio as they will in October when Case Western Reserve University and select industry partners bring the 2004 vice presidential debate to the Case campus. Nearly 1,000 members of the media will converge on Cleveland for this event, with principal television coverage coming from ABC News, reaching 25-30 million viewers nationwide.
The university is planning to make the Race at Case the centerpiece of an exciting and informative celebration that will present the debate as a national "civics lesson." Students from universities across the country will be here to mount their own lively—and likely televised—debate as a warm-up for the real thing. Case also will host a symposium featuring political scientists, historians and representatives from all levels of government. There will be a major rock concert, special VIP activities and, of course, media, media, media.
The Race at Case is a monumental opportunity to showcase your organization and its role in supporting one of the most cherished traditions of democracy. By becoming a Case sponsor, you will:
- Reap the benefits of significant regional, national and international media exposure
- Reach consumers and decision-makers across the United States and the world
- Support the electoral process so vital to our nation
- Engage our nation's youth by helping to deliver a civics lesson—on a grand scale—to our future leaders
