Lester M. and Ruth P. Sears Administration Tower

The Sears Tower was completed in 1971 along with the rest of the Health Sciences Center, which also includes the Robbins Building (formerly known as the east wing of the School of Medicine), the dental and nursing schools, an underground parking garage and a cafeteria. The Sears Tower connects the Wood Building and the Robbins Building and houses administrative offices of the School of Medicine.

The building is named for benefactors Ruth P. and Lester M. Sears. Mr. Sears was an engineer who invented the gasoline-powered industrial tractor and the forklift industrial truck and founded the Towmotor Corp. of Cleveland.
