Multipurposing: Map of ponds at Squire Valleevue and Valley Ridge Farms
This project began while we were updating the website for the Case farms and realized that we needed to replace the existing map of the ponds with something that was easier to read. Concurrently the farm was working to develop and implement outdoor educational signage for the facilities. Working with an environmental sign company who could print 4-color art on durable Corian, the farm team mocked up a design that would incorporate text, photos and the map. By reusing the Freehand file I had used to draw the new map, I was able to repurpose the illustration, modify the colors, and create final art for the sign in a fraction of the time it would have taken if the projects had been considered separately.
