Multimedia & Video
Multimedia projects are often seen as the "bells and whistles" of marketing. Motion and sound can be used to engage an audience, or to encourage interactivity. Our philosophy in Case Creative is not to use such tools merely to "impress" but instead to implement them when they offer the best method to support our underlying goal.
We may use video on television, the web, or in stand alone presentations to tell a story or share a vision that cannot be adequately conveyed through words or still photos. Flash objects ranging from complex animations to simple slideshows can be used to express a linear sequence of events or a variety of images, while Powerpoint presentations are created to augment the words of a speech by supplying visual cues that support the message.
Commencement Animation (Flash)
Orchestrating commencement is an enormous undertaking, but one of the most complicated tasks—in the past—was to communicate where and when the students and faculty from each school would process across campus. Originally the commencement office used printed maps with overlapping color coded lines to indicate where each group would march. While these were helpful, they couldn't adequately convey the passage of time, the order of the marchers, and the multiple routes that each group might take throughout the events of the day. Knowing a multimedia approach was in order, they requested an animation that would show the routes in motion. This commencement animation was the result. Utilizing simple campus maps and colored dots, we were able to convey how each group moved across campus throughout the day as well as how they would process in and out of Veale during convocation. The animation is presented to commencement staff at planning meetings as well as shown on the web, and has been recognized as a "best practice" solution by commencement coordinators from schools around the country.

Pharmacology Slideshow (Flash)
When the Department of Pharmacology began rebuilding their website—a process that is still underway—one of the goals they considered was recruitment of faculty, staff and students. In support of this mission they chose to include a slideshow, rather than a still image on their front page. The slideshow allows them to present engaging images of their research, Case and Cleveland to site visitors even before they begin exploring the site.
