How dental medicine became a school.

Question 5.0 (2/15/2011):dentist's chair

One of Case Western Reserve University's schools has gone through a particularly interesting series of changes in ownership and control. It started as a unit of another school within the university, then operated as part of the university, but managed by an outside business. Later it was sold to the outside business, but still functioned under the name of the university. Finally, it returned to being part of the university in a manner parallel to all the other academic units. Which school was it?

The answer was B: The School of Dental Medicine.

Today, the School of Dental Medicine is a leader in oral health research. Recent studies have linked poor oral health to prostate disease, HIV and fetal death.
