How does a designated advisor get assigned in SIS?

A designated advisor can only be assigned by a student. Once logged into SIS, a student can navigate to the advisor box on the right side of the Student Center. From there, click the details link then click the designated advisor tab.


Do I have to assign a designated advisor?

No, a designated advisor is optional and up to each individual.


What if I have further questions about designated advisors?

You may contact your school (i.e. Undergraduate Studies, Graduate Studies,etc.) with further questions.

What if a student added me as a designated advisor and I would like the access to be removed?

Please contact the student directly to have the access changed. If you are unable to have the student remove the access, contact the appropriate school (i.e. Undergraduate Studies, School of Graduate Studies, etc.) for the student.
