Paulette S. Goll
Paulette S. Goll is a lecturer in the Department of English at Case Western Reserve University. She has been teaching in the SAGES program since 2002. She also has taught freshman composition, regular and remedial English, English as a Second Language, and Advanced Expository Writing.
Dr. Goll earned her Bachelor of Arts in English (1969) and her Master of Education (1974) from Cleveland State University. She also attended the University of Bridgeport, where she earned her master's in English (1979). She attended the summer session at St. Peter's College in Oxford, England. She earned her doctorate in English (1987) from Case Western Reserve University.
A former Cleveland Public Schools employee for thirty years, Dr. Goll has held a range of educational roles, from teacher to administrator, and academic consultant to testing coordinator.
Dr. Goll has published several articles pertaining to gifted education and learning styles, grant writing, and other subjects. She is in the process of completing her first book, Alternative Approaches: Strategies for Success (Prentice Hall) that will have audiovisual tapes as a companion piece. The book explores different learning styles and alternative strategies designed to help first-year college students and others through the writing process. She notes that 200 students collaborated with her on this project.
She describes it as "Real people doing real papers and who will read and share the writing process."
She is included in the 2005 and 2002 editions of Who's Who in America and the 2005 edition of Who's Who in American Women. She is a member of the National Council of Teachers, the national Association of Gifted Children, Phi Delta Kappa, Inter-University Chapter, among other national educational organizations.
