SCHOOL OF NURSING
1960s

Elizabeth Ford Pitorak (’64), Mentor, OH, director of the Hospice Institute of Hospice of the Western Reserve, one of the largest hospices and palliative care programs in the country. She is responsible for planning and participating in external education and research regarding end-of-life care issues for both the professional and lay community. Her writings on death and dying from the July 2003 American Journal of Nursing were quoted in the Arts & Life section of the Cleveland Plain Dealer on January 10, 2004, in the feature article, “Easing the Pain of Dying,” by Jane E. Brody of the New York Times.

1970s

Harriet Snowdon Blossom (’73), Cincinnati, OH, was featured in Inspire Cincinnati magazine (September/October 2003 issue) for her sr. volunteer work with children in her community. She says she believes in giving back to her community from the treasure of her life experiences.

Louis M. Skoletsky (’78) shares that his daughter, Jennifer, graduated on June 12, 2004, from Ohio Univ. in Athens, with a B.S. degree in health. He adds that she will be attending Midwestern Univ. in Glendale, AZ, to a pursue a graduate degree and become certified in perfusion therapy and technology. Louis lives in Parma Hts., OH. 2000s

Beverly Bokovitz (’00) is v.p. of patient care services at the Massillon Community Hospital in Massillon, OH. She also is pursuing a doctorate in organizational leadership from Nova Southeastern Univ. in Fort Lauderdale.
