Harold Bordy (’79) is the new executive director of the Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center in Los Gatos, CA, in the San Jose area. Hal writes that he recently relocated from Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he was executive director of the Rady Jewish Community Centre.
1980s
Cynthia Harper Dunn (’82), Lakewood, OH, president and CEO of Judson at University Circle in Cleveland, was recently honored with the 2004 AOPHA: Advocate of Not-for-Profit Services for Older Ohioans Leadership Award of Honor. Cynthia has been with Judson for 25 years and is a former AOPHA president. She was recognized for helping to establish Judson as the first Eden-registered site in Northeast Ohio, a facility that enhances the environment of older residents.
2000s
Leilani Torres (’04) competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. She is a member of Puerto Rico’s synchronized swimming team. She lives in San Juan.
Brenda Wamsley (’04), Parkersburg, WV, received the Chair’s Citation from the Gerontological Health Section of the American Public Health Assoc. at its 132nd Annual Meeting held recently in Washington, D.C. Brenda was honored for her public health leadership in her role as executive director of the Center for Aging and Healthcare in West Virginia, which serves rural older populations. She also is an associate professor and chair of the social work dept. at West Virginia State Univ.
