1940s
Roy Roberts (’44), Plainview, TX, received an honorary doctorate of humane letters from Waynesburg College, Waynesburg, PA, at the college’s May 16, 2004 commencement.
1960s
Robert Resnik (’65), Solana Beach, CA, received the Achievement Award from the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the organization’s annual meeting in February 2004 in New Orleans. Robert is co-editor of the textbook, Maternal-Fetal Medicine: Principles and Practice, which is in its fifth edition and published worldwide in several languages.
Barbara Hudson Roberts (’68), Providence, RI, contributed a chapter entitled “Gender Specific Aspects of Coronary Artery Disease” in a textbook, Principles of Gender-Specific Medicine, published by Elsevier.

1970s
James P. Orlowski (’74; ADL ’69) is chair of the division of pediatrics at University Community Hospital, a 1,019-bed community health network in Tampa, FL. He also is chair of ethics there, and is an associate professor of pediatrics, critical care medicine, and medical ethics at the Univ. of South Florida.
1990s
Leah Wolfe (’98), College Park, MD, is program director of the general internal medicine residency training program at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore.
Libbie Stansifer (’99; GRS ’00, nutrition), Cleveland, received the Dept. of Pediatrics Award for displaying “compassion and excellence in the care of children and their families.” She also earned the Primary Care Prize for being the student “who, throughout medical school, has best exemplified the goals” of the Primary Care Track program, at the May 16 diploma ceremony of the Case School of Medicine. She also was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society during medical school. Libbie now has a residency in pediatrics at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland.
2000s
Lipika Samal (’04; CWR ’00), Johnstown, PA, was recognized for receiving the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award, for demonstrating “the highest standards of compassion and sensitivity in interactions with patients,” at the May 16 diploma ceremony of the Case School of Medicine. Lipika, a graduate of the medical school’s Primary Care Track, has a residency in internal medicine/primary care at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore.
Joseph Zickafoose (’04; CWR ’00), Cleveland Hts., OH, was recognized for receiving the Dept. of Pediatrics Award, for displaying “compassion and excellence in the care of children and their families,” at the May 16 diploma ceremony of the Case School of Medicine.
