David A. Bell, Vice President, Office of Government and Community Relations

Prior to joining the university, Bell served as general counsel for the Arizona State University Foundation in Tempe, Ariz. He is a 1990 graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Law. After graduation, he clerked for the Honorable Alice M. Batchelder on the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and practiced law with two Ohio firms. Bell also taught at the university as an adjunct professor of law from 1993 to 1995 and served as associate general counsel at the university from 2003 to 2006.

Latisha M. James, Director, Center for Community Partnerships

James manages the local office for the Office of Government and Community Relations at Case Western Reserve University. The center serves as a clearinghouse of information regarding the university's engagement in the community. The center promotes the university's extensive inventory of community outreach programs and partnerships in the primary areas of K-12 education, health, social service, community and economic development. In addition, the center coordinates signature programs and events for the campus and community. As director, James facilitates all public inquiries seeking university partnerships, services and sponsorships, as well as coordinates the university's response to local governmental and community issues. James earned her BS degree in business administration from Wilberforce University.

Maureen T. Kendel, Executive Assistant, Office of Government and Community Relations

Kendel is the newest member of the Office of Government and Community Relations team. She facilitates all of the administrative and event-related responsibilities for the office. She earned her BA degree in political science from John Carroll University.
