View the Fall University Update Video; Register for Your School/Unit Q&A Meeting

To Our Case Western Reserve University Faculty and Staff:

Each fall and spring, the provost and president meet with you by school and unit to share an update on the university and to answer your questions.

This fall, we have pre-recorded our update so that you may watch at your convenience and, more importantly, so that our entire time together during our meetings can be used for discussion, and question and answer. The video is about 22 minutes in length and you can view it online. Please note that you must use your CWRU login and password to access the video.

Each school previously shared a save the date for your school/unit meeting time. Please select your school/unit name below to register for your meeting and to receive the Zoom link. The schedule of meetings is as follows:

We will answer questions live at each of the meetings, but if you wish to share a question for us in advance, you may do so by completing this Google form.

Please note that this recording was made in advance, and, as such, it represents a moment in time. Accordingly, all university information shared in this video is accurate as of Nov. 6, 2023. If any content in this video changes by the date of your school or unit’s meeting, we will provide you with updated information.

With the recording date in mind, and with tremendous concern for the war in the Middle East and its likely rapid evolution, we do not address it in the video. However, as shared in my most recent university-wide message, we continue to denounce the violent terrorism by Hamas. We recognize that many members of our university community are experiencing grief, pain and suffering due to the tragic events in Israel and Gaza, and we mourn the loss of innocent lives—Israeli, Palestinian and others—on all sides of the conflict. We have resources to help you. Free faculty and staff counseling services are available through IMPACT solutions, the university’s Employee Assistance Provider, at 800.227.6007 or myimpactsolution.com.

We urge you to show each other grace and respect during this difficult time and to embrace the core values of our university. Please remember that antisemitism, Islamophobia, racism, and hatred of any form have no place on our campus. We hope and pray for a time when peace prevails.

Sincerely,

Eric W. Kaler, President
Joy K. Ward, Interim Provost and Executive Vice President
