Planning for the Future of Case Western Reserve University
Under the guidance of its recently appointed president, Barbara R. Snyder, Case Western Reserve University seeks to strengthen its impact in education, in research, scholarship creative endeavors, and in other forms of discovery, and in service to society. Central to this commitment is the development of strategic plans for the institution and its major academic and administrative units that will identify key priorities for the years ahead and will shape budgeting, fund-raising, campus improvements, and other basic operations.
Led by the Provost with wide participation by faculty, staff, students, and others, the planning process is designed to produce a draft document for consideration by the University's Board of Trustees in June 2008. The process builds on the foundation established during 2006-2007 by the University Plan Steering Committee. The university's plan will incorporate strategic plans developed by each of its schools.
Preliminary plan documents are available for discussion.
A key commitment of the strategic planning process is to provide transparency for faculty, staff, students and other members of the university community. For questions about the University Plan or to comment on documents, complete the online feedback form.
Open Forums to Discuss University Plans
The University Plan Steering Committee has scheduled four open forums in April so that faculty, staff, students and alumni can discuss emerging goals, priorities, and strategic initiatives, and offer suggestions on action steps. All forums will be held in the Weatherhead Peter B. Lewis Building, Room 103:
