How to Get Involved

Reviewers

Reviewers are the first group look at submitted articles. Each reviewer will be responsible for up to three articles. They must read and score the articles, then come to the editorial board with their suggestions. If you would like to be a reviewer please email askdiscussions@case.edu with the subject, “Reviewer Interest.”

Copy Editors

Copy editors work with articles that have been selected for publication. During a period of two or three weeks, they must polish their assigned article, reviewing for grammatical and syntactic mistakes as well as general clarity. Copy editors are compensated for their work.
Copy editors will be selected by the editorial board at the beginning of each fall semester. If you are interested in applying to become a copy editor, please email askdiscussions@case.edu or the Director of Editing with the subject, “Copy Editor Interest.”

Public Relations Committee

These committee members assist the Director of Public Relations in advertising for and distribution of the journal. These members work throughout semester and are a vital part of Discussions' success. If you are interested in becoming a PR Committee member please email askdiscussions@case.edu or the Director of PR with the subject, “PR Committee Interest.”

Layout/Design Committee

These committee members assist in the layout and design of the journal. They work with the Co-Managing Editors to create the final layout of the journal. Previous knowledge of InDesign or Photoshop is not required, but is encouraged. If you are interested in becoming a Layout/Design Committee member, please email askdiscussions@case.edu or the Managing Editor with the subject, “Layout/Design Committee Interest.”

Marketing Committee

These committee members work to expand the distribution of the journal to other universities across the country. They work to establish connections and coordinate distribution at new universities. If you are interested in becoming a Marketing Committee member, please email askdiscussions@case.edu or the Director of Marketing/Design with the subject, “Layout/Design Committee Interest.”

Information/Web Committee

These members manage our presence on social media and control the design and layout of the web site. They work with the every other group in order to keep the website up to date. Previous knowledge of web programming languages (HTML, CSS, javascript, XML, etc.) is not required, but is highly encouraged. This is a great opportunity to get experience and take creative control of a professional website. If you are interested in joining the web team, please email askdiscussions@case.edu or the Director of Information with the subject, “Information/Web Committee Interest.”
