UNIVERSITY REGISTRAR

TRANSCRIPTS

All transcripts of academic work completed at Case Western Reserve University are maintained by the Office of the University Registrar.* Official transcripts cost $5.00. Normally transcripts will be mailed within 3 business days after a request is received although this may vary, and in many cases we are able to process requests on the same day that they are received. Please allow for additional processing time during peak periods such as the start and end of classes (mid January, beginning of May, end of August and mid December). For your convenience, there are four ways for you to order official transcripts:

1) On line
Transcript requests can be made on-line via the University portal. This process is enabled by the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC), and there is a secondary fee ($2.00 additional per destination) charged by NSC. Please be assured that all handling of the transcript itself is done by the registrar’s office. The servicer handles the electronic payment transactions and automated notification services, and the fee represents their cost for processing. By requesting transcripts electronically, you will have the convenience of using the web for the entire process, including a means by which you may check the status of your request.

  • Current students: If you have a valid Case network ID and password, you may go to the student tab on the Case Portal to request an official transcript.

  • Alumni: If you have a valid Case network ID and password and have activated a Case On-Line Services account (formerly called CWRUser), you may go to the Alumni tab and then the Resources subtab on the Case Portal to request an official transcript. Alumni can sign up for their free Case Online Services account here. If you are an alum and have lost your password, you can have it reset by visiting the Case Alumni Website and selecting "Lost Password."

  • Please note: If you attended prior to 2000 and you have not yet signed up for your Case On-Line Services account or if you attended prior to 1989, you may not be able to use this service. If you experience difficulty accessing the transcript portlet from the alumni tab, please order your transcript by mail, fax, or in-person or contact our office for assistance. If you can log into the Case portal but do not see the Alumni tab, or if you have difficulty logging into the Case portal, please contact the Case help desk

2) By US Mail
Please use our transcript request form and return it with payment to the address listed below. Transcript requests via mail must be signed by the student. If paying by check or money order, please make payable to Case Western Reserve University. (Please do not mail cash!) Our mailing address is:

Case Western Reserve University
Office of the University Registrar
Yost Hall Room 110
10900 Euclid Avenue
Cleveland, OH 44106-7042

3) In person
Transcripts are available on a walk-in basis. In-person requests must be made by the student and must be accompanied by photo identification. You may either fill out and bring in our transcript request form, or you may complete the form upon your arrival in our office. To place your request in person, come to Room 110 Yost Hall between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. We are closed on regularly scheduled university holidays (see Academic Calendar).

4) By fax
Please use our transcript request form and fax it with credit card information (Visa, MasterCard or Discover) to the fax number listed on the transcript request form. Transcript requests via fax must be signed by the student.

When using our transcript request form, please be specific if you have special handling requirements, and be sure you supply as much information as possible. Missing information could delay your request. If you have trouble loading our form, you may wish to try the JPG version.

Please note: It is the policy of Case to include on the transcript all academic information for work completed on all levels—undergraduate, graduate, and professional—regardless of specific colleges attended.

Third party transcript requests will not be honored.

If you have additional questions, please send e-mail to us at registrar@case.edu. Please note that we do not accept the transcript request form via e-mail attachment. All fees are subject to change without notice.
