The following is a brief description of each search field in the Schedule of Classes.

By Term

To search for courses offered in a given term (spring, summer or fall), select the term from the list provided.

By Course Subject

To search for courses by subject, enter the four letter subject code in the text box provided. For example, to find all course in the English department, enter ENGL in this field. For a full list of subject abbreviations, see Subject Codes.

By Course Number

To search for courses with a specific course number, set the operator and enter the course number in the text box provided. For example, if you wanted to find all courses with the course number 101, you would set the operator to "is exactly" and enter 101 in the text box. To search for courses with a range of course numbers, set the operator to "contains," "greater or equal to" or "less than or equal to." For example, to find 300-level courses or above, set the operator to "greater than or equal to" and enter 300 in the text box.

By Course Career

To search for courses offered in a given career, select the name of the career from the list provided. To search all careers, leave the field blank. Course Career denotes the academic level of study at which the course is taught. For example, ACCT 101 has a career of Undergraduate (not Management) and MGMT 701 has a career of Graduate (not Management).

By Academic Group

To search for courses offered by a specific academic group, select the name of the group from the list provided. To search all academic groups, leave the field blank. Academic Group denotes the school that "owns" the course and the school from which the instructors have teaching appointments. For example, ACCT 101 has an academic group of Weatherhead School of Management and MGMT 701 has an academic group of Weatherhead School of Management.

By Meeting Time

To search for courses by meeting time, enter a block of time in which the courses should meet. For example, to find all classes that meet between 10:30am and 2:00pm, enter 10:30AM and 2:00PM in the text boxes provided.

By Day of Week

To search for courses by the day of the week, choose an operator and click the checkbox next to the day/s of the week. For example, if you would like to see only the classes offered on Monday and Wednesday choose "Include Only These Days" and check Mon and Wed.

By Instructor Last Name

To search for courses offered by a given instructor, set the operator to "is exactly" and enter the instructor's last name in the text box provided. To search using a few letters of an instructor's last name, set the operator to "begins with" or "contains" and enter a partial last name.

By Class Nbr

Enter a class number.

By Course Keyword

To search for a course by a word in its title or description, enter the word in the text box provided. For example, if you wanted to find all classes that discuss metabolism, you would enter the word metabolism in the text box.

By Course Units

To search for courses by number of units (credit hours), enter the numbers in the text boxes provided. For example, if you wanted to see courses offered for 1 or 2 units (credit hours), enter 1 in the first box and 2 in the second. If you wanted to see courses offered for 4 units (credit hours), enter a 4 in both text boxes.

By Course Component

To search for courses by component type, choose a component type from the list provided. For example, if you wanted to see lab courses, choose "Laboratory" from the list.

By Campus

To search for courses by campus, choose a location from the list provided. For example, to see courses offered at the Cleveland Institute of Music, choose "Cleveland Institute of Music" from the list.

By Building

To search for courses offered in a given building, choose that building name from the list provided. After choosing a building, another prompt will appear where you may choose the room if you wish.

By Course Attribute

To search for courses by attribute, choose an attribute from the list provided. To search for Semester Spotlight or Senior Audit courses, choose "Schedule Search". Another prompt will appear where you may choose specific course attribute values.

By Course List

To search for courses by their listing, choose a list classification from the list provided. For example, to see courses listed as Senior Capstones, choose "SAGES Senior Cap" from the list.



The following is a brief description of a field on the Schedule of Classes results page.

Class Section

Each class offering is assigned a class section number that makes it easily identifiable within the course. The first scheduled class section of a course is 100.
