SIS FEEDBACK/KNOWN ISSUES |
The following information has been reported to the SIS project team by students, faculty, staff or in some cases by the team itself. In it's first release, priority for SIS issue resolution rests first with ensuring that major, basic, system level functionality is addressed (such as registration performance, correct class rosters, grade rosters recording accurate grades, accurate charges, credits, billing, etc.). When possible, suggestions for short term work arounds and tips are listed as "Notes". The student and faculty liaison committees assist the project team with helping to prioritize fixes and new feature releases. Please report SIS comments, questions or concerns to erpsis@case.edu.
Course History Page
- Shows AP, IB and Proficiency credit as “Transferred” even though it is technically test credit.
- When clicking on the term heading to sort by term, it gives an alpha sort instead of a chronological sort.
Academic Document Links
- No single sign on from the Student System to linked pages. (Note: Single sign on will be
available over the coming months.)
Searchable Schedule of Classes
- No way to do wild card search, e.g., US** for SAGES, MU** for music courses.
- Search says it requires 2 criteria, but sometimes only 1 field is required.
- Initial results page does not show prereqs.
- Some search criteria used will return all sections of any course where at least one section meets the criteria. E.g., searching for ITN courses via course attribute returns all sections of courses where only one section is an ITN section, not just the ITN sections. E.g., search for MWF meeting dates returns classes with TR meeting dates. (Note: Searching by course component of ITN, for example, will return only ITN sections.)
- Topic titles are not returned on the fast search results. (Note: Users can go to details to see topic titles.)
- The search allows you to search by units (credit hours) but on the results page units is not displayed. Users have to go to details to see units.
- No way to search the whole fall/summer catalog.
- Initial results page is configured such that it can be downloaded to Excel, except readability is sacrificed. There is a row for every meeting date and it’s hard to find each individual section.
- The search results are limited to 200 rows, so perhaps it is not necessary to limit to 2 search criteria.
Unofficial Transcript/Cumulative Grade Report
- GPA in SIS has three decimal places. Various screens show 3 decimal places, but the grade report shows only two. (Note: The grade report and official transcripts will show 3 decimal places by end of May 2008.)
- Transfer institution shows system internal code instead of institution’s name. (Note: This will be addressed before transcripts go live in May 2008.)
