UNIVERSITY REGISTRAR

ISSUE PERMITS OR OVERRIDES

Note: This system will be replaced by the new Student Information System (SIS) beginning Summer/Fall 2008.

The permit system and the override system are a combined system which will allow you to issue permits and/or overrides for courses for which you are the instructor of record or for which you have departmental access. Please note that using this system, if you are teaching a course that both requires a permit and has an enrollment limit, you will granting both a permit and an override for the student for that course. This system does not distinguish between the two.

PLEASE NOTE: Issuing a permit/override for a student does NOT register the student for that course! It only allows the student to register for the course either via SOLAR or in person without a paper permit/override. Similarly, revoking or deleting a permit/override will not drop the student from the course.

The permit/override system is for faculty and authorized staff access only. You will need to login with your Case network ID and password. You will be granted access only (1) if you are the instructor of record for a course, or (2) if you are a department representative on record with the Registrar's Office. Courses listed will be only those permit/enrollment limit courses being taught during the semester(s) for which registration is currently in progress. If you are not the instructor of record or if there is a course that is not on your list that you feel should have a permit requirement or has an enrollment limit, please contact the Registrar's Office. If you are a department representative who does not have access or you wish to add access for someone in your department, please email solar@case.edu for assistance. Note: To prevent unauthorized access to the permit/override system, you should close your browser when you are finished.
