Spectrum
Spectrum is a USG-recognized student group at Case Western Reserve
University. We aim to provide an environment where
GLBTQQIA (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender,
queer, questioning, intersexed, and allied) persons
can socialize, learn, and grow. It is operated
by and serves the needs of undergraduate students
but does welcome graduate and professional students
as well as faculty and staff. Meets every other
Monday at 8:00 p.m.

A social, political,
and activist group for students in the School of Law that aspires to
co-sponsor GLBT-related lectures, conferences, and other events with

Newcomers Committee
The Newcomers Committee is a group of volunteers (faculty spouses and faculty)
who greet new members of the faculty and administration, and their families,
to the Case Western Reserve University community. We look forward to answering
any questions you have (or at least guiding you in the right direction!) regarding
your joining our campus, enjoying the immediate University Circle cultural
institutions, or becoming familiar with the wider Cleveland metropolitan area
and the facilities in the various suburbs.
Med School Group
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered People in Medicine: a political
and social organization for students in the School of Medicine that
aspires to conduct community service projects and advocate for GLBT
health-policy issues.
Case Libertarians
The
Case Libertarian Club is a student political group at Case Western Reserve
University in Cleveland, Ohio, which has officially been in existence since
1994. We are not officially affiliated with the National Libertarian
Party and prefer to think of ourselves as simply a group
of concerned, politically active students who believe
in limited government. Just as with the national
party, we adhere to a strict policy of non-violent
activism. Our members include both big L and small
l libertarians; and as individuals, we encompass a wide spectrum of personal
and political beliefs. Anyone interested in learning more about libertarianism
or joining our organization is encouraged to attend one of our meetings
or contact one of us in person, on the phone, or

Office of University Counseling Services
Offers individual counseling
for GLBT students (and all students) designed to
help them through the coming-out process and
also offers couples counseling (for homosexual
and heterosexual couples). The office also provides staff support
for events such as National Coming Out Day and sponsors an annual
pizza party, welcoming graduate and professional students to the University.
The event, held in August, allows students to meet faculty, staff,
and students who are GLBT.
Office of Multicultural Affairs
The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) encourages,
supports, and facilitates the success of all Case
students by providing opportunities for diverse
interaction and cultural education that occurs outside of the classroom
environment. Houses Case ’s Spectrum group
and offers members of Spectrum the chance to interact
with other students from underrepresented and
underserved groups on campus.
Office of Housing and Residence Life
Sponsors programs in the residence
halls that incorporate GLBT issues and provides
staff support for GLBT-related events. Also provides
an intensive training program for resident assistants
and resident directors that focuses on diversity and incorporates
GLBT issues.
University Center for Women
The mission of the Case Center for Women is to
promote the well-being and advancement of women through education
and advocacy.

National Lesbian and Gay Journalist Association
NLGJA is an organization that connects, informs, and supports journalists who are LGBTQA. There are chapters throughout the U.S., as well as a few in other countries. The organization employs students as interns at the National Office in Washington, DC.
