Mission Statement
The purpose of the LGBT committee and website is to serve as a focus for matters of concern to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons across the University by providing welcoming, visible, and tangible support; to promote opportunities that increase awareness of LGBT issues and concerns such as discrimination and harassment; to increase LGBT understanding and cultural awareness; to help ensure that University programs and services are inclusive and supportive of LGBT issues, perspectives, and concerns; to provide access to “safe” places, people, and forums for confidential discussion, support, and resource information; and to conduct studies as needed to address these concerns.
