Interfolio at Case Western Reserve University

To the Faculty of Case Western Reserve University:

Last summer, President Eric W. Kaler charged [U]Tech with finding a solution to streamline faculty recruitment. After some research, we engaged with Interfolio to help automate and better organize our recruitment process. As we began discussions, we were also introduced to their Review, Promotion, and Tenure application. After discussing the system’s opportunities and benefits with the deans, we decided to implement both the Faculty Search module and the Review, Promotion, and Tenure (RPT) module.

Together, these modules will help us standardize the academic hiring process, advance diversity initiatives and increase transparency and efficiency for academic evaluations—most importantly, promotion and tenure. These modules will replace our old paper processes, outdated spreadsheets and Google documents, and will also complement the functionalities available within our homegrown Faculty Information System (FIS). As we continue with implementation, we will explore the best approaches for Interfolio to integrate with the FIS and vice versa.

Over the past several months, we have worked with Interfolio to merge our policies and processes with their application to provide the best experience to you. Faculty Search will launch in April and RPT is scheduled to launch this summer.

Your school/department will send additional communications about the transition, training opportunities and resources to support your use of the new application. I believe this application could have powerful implications for our university.

Thank you in advance for your support. As always, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or feedback.

Best,

Ben Vinson III
Provost and Executive Vice President
