Case and Fisk offer each other easier access to multicultural perspectives

Fisk and Case Western Reserve universities are very different educational institutions.

Fisk is a small, liberal arts college that is undergraduate-focused, while Case is a larger research university. Fisk is located in the south compared to Case in the north, so the collaborations between the two make for great opportunities for students and faculty to leave Cleveland in the winter and Fisk in the summer, among other options.

While Fisk is a historically black institution, Case has few underrepresented minority faculty and students. Whereas Case may have the edge in areas of research, Fisk has depth in many educational areas that Case would like to strengthen or develop.

Fisk has a renowned African-American history program. By partnering with Fisk, Case's ethnic studies program can provide more in-depth opportunities. Fisk also has a established art collection for Case's art history program to feature. Case also has strength in science and engineering education and can offer opportunities in those areas to Fisk students and faculty.

These differences make the two universities complementary in many ways and allow both easier access to multicultural perspectives.

Be it through student or faculty exchanges, dual degree or distance learning programs, the Case-Fisk partnership provides unparalled educational opportunities.
