Extending Condolences in the Wake of the Earthquake

To the Case Western Reserve Community:

We are deeply saddened for those who have been impacted by the devastation and tragic loss of life following Monday’s earthquake in Turkey. Our hearts are with the people of Turkey and Syria as international emergency and medical teams work to rescue survivors and treat those with injuries.

We understand that natural disasters like this can evoke feelings of helplessness, especially when they occur in areas that are distant from healthcare and consumed by instability, unrest and suffering. All students may access counseling support through myhealthconnect.case.edu or by calling 216.368.5872. They also may schedule virtual appointments through TimelyCare. As always, faculty and staff can receive immediate support at any time by calling 800.227.6007. Additional support through IMPACT Solutions can be found on the Human Resources website.

We send our sincere condolences to the families of the victims of this disaster and we remain hopeful for ongoing rescue and relief operations in Turkey and Syria.

Sincerely,

Eric W. Kaler, President
Ben Vinson III, Provost and Executive Vice President
