EMERITI PHOTO ID

Upon retirement, emeriti receive a new emeriti photo ID card.  The card is required for access to university facilities, parking, and library services.  Emeriti must apply in person Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to Access Services.

PARKING

Emeriti have access to free parking on campus. Emeriti must apply in person Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to Access Services for the required hangtag and gatecards:

  1. an emeritus hangtag;
  2. an emeritus photo ID card; and
  3. an additional gatecard for access to the Veale and Severance Hall garages.

OFFICE SPACE

If space is available within the home academic department, it may be possible for emeriti faculty to retain an office on campus. If space is limited, emeriti may request assistance from the dean.

EMERITI DIRECTORY INFORMATION

The online university directory provides contact information for faculty, staff, and students and emeriti. The online directory lists emeriti CWRU email (and CWRU office). The Office of Emeriti Affairs publishes a printed emeriti directory with name, address, phone and email which is distributed just to emeriti faculty.

TUITION WAIVER BENEFITS

Emeriti and their spouses or domestic partners are eligible for tuition waivers. Dependent children of emeriti are eligible for tuition waivers up to ten years after retirement. For more detailed information about tuition waivers and see the Human Resources Policy Manual.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

The Office of Continuing Education offers a variety of non-credit programs for those interested in a challenging learning experience including Off-Campus Studies, Senior Scholars (free to emeriti), Scholars in the Circle, Summer in the Country, and international travel and study programs. The office’s volunteer group, the Association for Continuing Education (ACE), sponsors the ACE/Case Western Reserve University Book Sale, Lecture Day, Discussion Day, and other activities. COURSE AUDIT PROGRAM FOR SENIOR CITIZENS

The expanded Course Audit Program for Senior Citizens (CAPSC, formerly the Senior Audit Program) invites Greater Cleveland residents age 65 and older to audit undergraduate or graduate courses taught by our distinguished faculty. This is your opportunity to engage with the latest research and scholarship in almost every school at the university, including the College of Arts & Sciences, the Case School of Engineering, the School of Dental Medicine, the School of Law, and the Weatherhead School of Management. As an auditor, you can choose from a wide selection of courses.

ATHLETIC FACILTIES

The Veale Center is the hub of the university’s physical education, athletics, and intramural programs. Emeriti faculty with an active ID card are invited to use these facilities during normal hours of operation, and enjoy free locker and towel service. A spouse recreation card and a variety of guest passes may be purchased.
