We reached our fundraising goal of $2,000 for the spring semester 2011. The two main fundraising sources were the WISER Wednesdays, held weekly in Hovorka Atrium, and a benefit dinner.
WISER Wednesday has become a fantastic venue to advocate our cause and gather support for our efforts through the sale of samosas, a tasty Indian appetizer.
In addition, the Seva Benefit Dinner held on April 22nd, 2011 at the Thwing Ballroom had over 40 in attendance.
We plan to generate a fund for a scholarship for two girls pursuing an engineering/science/medicine degree.
We plan to establish a summer program for WISER students in Bangalore, India. WISER students will work with girls from local schools on projects ranging from family planning to finances and science/engineering education.
