AAUW is an organization that focuses on breaking down the economic and
educational barriers women and girls face. AAUW's Student Advisory Council
(SAC)
members provide essential firsthand information about student needs and
ideas for combating sex discrimination on campus.
Some of the benefits for SAC members include the following opportunities:
· Representing student needs and presenting ideas to one of the

· Finding mentors and professional contacts at AAUW and a local AAUW

· Networking with 500 students from across the country at the annual

of other students by leading a women's equity-focused program on campus
(guidelines will be provided)
· Gaining résumé-building experience

· Free registration, lodging, and travel to attend NCCWSL
Applicants must be current students at two- or four-year accredited
institutions and must have at least a 2.75 GPA, leadership experience, an
interest in women's issues, and the ability to fulfill the necessary time
commitment.

The Amelia Earhart Internship
Introducing a new program
from the Career Center and the
Flora Stone Mather Center for Women
The Amelia Earhart Internship: For women students in engineering and the sciences.
What does it involve?

Get support with any challenges or successes; help others problem-solve;
and learn about what it’s like to work at a variety of Cleveland’s employers.

Visit careercenter.case.edu to begin your internship search.

Select an internship in Cleveland, in a science or engineering field.
-
Attend an orientation in the spring to set goals and meet the others in your group.
-
Develop specific learning goals relevant to your career path,
and your employer will help you work toward these.

Become part of a group of 6-12 students in similar internships.
-
Meet as a group for lunch (lunch will be provided!) once per week during the internship.
-
Gather at a different student’s internship site each week.
-
Hear from a new employer each week who will show and discuss the host organization.
-
Ask questions and learn more about each organization.
- Discuss with your group how things are going at each of your internships.

Cleveland Rape Crisis Center (CRCC)
The Cleveland Rape Crisis Center (CRCC) is dedicated to serving all survivors and those support them with free, comprehensive healing and advocacy services, and to creating social change in the community through education, training and activism. We are currently looking for several dynamic, compassionate individuals to join our team. Event Support (PT/Temporary)
Cleveland Rape Crisis Center immediately seeks part-time support related to coordinating and executing a major scale special event scheduled for May 19, 2008. CRCC seeks someone eager to learn special event fund raising/nonprofit management with excellent communication skills, computer proficiency, and attention to detail. Great learning opportunity.
This is a temporary position through May 30, 2008, 20 hours a week, though growth opportunity is possible.
Administrative Assistant (PT)
Cleveland Rape Crisis Center immediately seeks energetic candidates to fill a part-time administrative assistant position. Candidates must be comfortable with a team-oriented environment and be proficient in basic computer programs, such as Internet Explorer, Outlook, Word and Excel. Bi-lingual would be a huge plus. Duties include answering phones, greeting clients, and data entry.
Position reports to office manager and is 20 hours/week, 4 hours/day M-F.
Director of Development
Responsible for securing agency budget of approximately $1.2 million through foundation and government grants, special events, individual donations and annual campaigns. Works closely with executive director to build and manage relationships and annual budget. Works closely with program staff to develop grant requests and manage grant projects as guided by agency strategic plan. Communicates agency mission to supporters through annual reports, newsletters and other communications. Responsible for one major-scale, biennial special event, Sing Out for the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, and other fund raising and donor events. Position reports to executive director and is and supported by another full-time development staff member that will be hired by new Development Director. Requires: Bachelor’s degree and minimum of three years of development experience. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Professional should be a self-starter, goal oriented, deadline conscious, highly organized and able to multi-task. Demonstrated strong relationship building skills a must. Ideal candidate will have experience with/knowledge of government funding and sexual assault and/or anti-violence movement.

Advocate
The Cleveland Rape Crisis Center (CRCC) is in search of a dynamic, dedicated and compassionate individual who will provide advocacy, support and referrals to sexual assault survivors as they seek medical care and are involved in the criminal justice system. Also responsible for educating, training and working with healthcare and criminal justice professionals, as well as CRCC volunteers who serve as on-call advocates 24-hours a day. Full-time, salaried position with great benefits. Requires: an associate’s degree (bachelor’s degree preferred) and at least one year of experience in working with victims of crime. Must have understanding of the dynamics of sexual violence, and familiarity with the criminal justice process. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as be comfortable with public speaking.

The Feminist Majority and Feminist Majority Foundation seek highly motivated undergraduate students who aspire to become leaders in the feminist movement to serve as interns in our Washington, DC and Los Angeles offices.
The Feminist Majority Foundation, one of the nation’s leading research and advocacy organizations for women’s rights, develops creative long-term strategies and permanent solutions for the pervasive social, political, and economic obstacles facing women. Through educational and research projects the Feminist Majority Foundation seeks to transform the public debate on issues of importance to women’s lives. The Foundation also publishes Ms. Magazine in editorial offices in Los Angeles and publishing offices in the greater DC area.
