Tell Your Story

Are you a survivor of sexual assault who was raped in college?

Laura DiStefano is in the process of developing a book tentatively titled, Empowerment.  This book will be a compilation of stories submitted by sexual assault survivors who have been raped in college.  The current statistic from a Department of Justice research project is that 1 out of every 4 women will be sexually assaulted during college. Women in college either do not report their sexual assaults or they feel as though they are the only ones that have experienced this trauma.

The purpose of Empowerment is twofold:

  1. Show women who have been raped that they are not alone and that their story is similar to so many others.

  2. Warn young women who are just going off to college that sexual assault is an epidemic on college campuses that they must be aware of.

If you are a survivor, please visit my website, www.writing4survivors.com, to find out how to contribute your story.
