In 2008, there were over 400 international graduate women students obtaining their education at Case Western Reserve University. In total, international students make up nearly one fifth of the entire graduate student body.
The International Women’s Group is a joint initiative of the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women, International Student Services and University Counseling Service. Our goal is to bring international graduate women students together at our social events, workshops and now also through our new mentoring program.

Bringing international female graduate students and international alumnae together
Have you ever wondered if there are international alumnae of Case Western working in your field in the Cleveland area? Have you ever asked yourself how they made it? Do you think that discussing your global career goals and global experiences would be easier with a professional woman who shares the same background?
The Flora Stone Mather Center for Women in cooperation with International Student Services and University Counseling Services would like to offer you the opportunity to participate in our One-To-One Mentoring program.
We will put you in touch with the right mentor, a successful international professional woman who works in the Cleveland area and comes from the same geographical or professional background. Then we will facilitate your first meeting, provide you with advice and consultation on you mentoring relationship and organize events where you can meet with other international mentoring pairs and international graduate students.
What is Mentoring?
Build direct relationships with international professionals
Mentoring is a time proven strategy that puts students in direct relationship with their career role models. Through the mentoring experience, you can get to know important people in your field and future career; share your global experiences and career concerns; and talk about career goals and ways to reach them. You will meet regularly based on your and your mentor’s individual schedules, be it in person over coffee, dinner or maybe even over the phone or online. Your mentoring experience will be as time intensive as you and your mentor make it.
If you are interested, please fill out our survey to become a part of the mentoring program.
