ABOUT UCITE

UCITE (University Center for Innovation in Teaching and Education) is the teaching and learning center at Case. Its purpose is to enhance the educational environment on campus by encouraging faculty to grow in their teaching. UCITE was established in 1994 and since that time we have established programs which support faculty teaching efforts in many ways. This website gives you access to information about our seminar programs, grants and fellowships, and other resources.

OUR ACADEMIC PHILOSOPHY

Case is a major private research university which has a long tradition of innovation and excellence in teaching in its various schools. Our traditions focus on excellence and balance between scholarship and teaching. We seek to be a leader in discovery of new knowledge through scholarship, but also aspire to develop student skills and attitudes which will support a lifetime of discovery and learning, and to assure transfer of these ideals to following generations. At UCITE we believe this is fostered when both students and faculty understand and practice the 'scholarship of teaching' and the 'teaching in scholarship.'

OUR GOALS

To construct and sustain services for faculty which will enhance student learning at all Case schools and colleges.

To provide faculty grants and fellowships for projects which will enhance student learning.

To encourage growth of a campus culture which highly values teaching and scholarship.
