We are pleased to announce that Case Western Reserve University went live with the Admissions, Campus Community and Schedule of Classes modules of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions 9.0 on September 17, 2007.

Admissions
The baseline admissions module is live and ready for data updates.  Data and business processes for each school will be phased in according to each school's 2008 processing cycle and business needs.  Undergraduate Admissions will begin processing applications and data in PeopleSoft on 9/17/07 and the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, Weatherhead School of Management, Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing and School of Graduate Studies will follow shortly thereafter.  In the months to come, admissions data for the Schools of Law, Medicine and Dental Medicine will also be updated in PeopleSoft.

Campus Community
The Campus Community module is the central repository for biographic and demographic data.  It provides the framework for allowing the University to realize the strengths of having a full suite of enterprise software to manage financial, human resources and student systems.  Because the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions student system and the PeopleSoft Human Capital Management human resources system share both structure and data, people who have roles in both systems (e.g., students working on campus, employees taking classes) will have a more streamlined customer service experience.

Schedule of Classes
The Schedule of Classes module provides the functionality for the university to store and manage each term's course section offerings.  Case Western Reserve University has decided not only to take full advantage of PeopleSoft's Schedule of Classes capabilities but also to extend those capabilities by allowing departments direct access to the new system.  Rather than continue with the antiquated practice of producing paper reports for departments to edit and circulate among numerous offices, departments will have access to the system for direct update of each term's offerings.  This will enable departments to monitor and manage section data such as limits, permits, and assignment of instructors more easily and efficiently.  Beginning in October, training sessions for representatives from each department will be held in support of this new process.  It is critical for department representatives to attend these sessions in order to gain access to the new system and so that departmental section data ownership can be reinforced and supported.

This is the third consecutive on-time go-live for the Student Information System implementation project.  We have made some great progress over the last few months due to the hard work and dedication that has been put forth by the members of our team and our colleagues around campus.  The success of this go-live puts us one step closer to our March 2008 goal of on-line student registration.
