Document Search is now available to all SmartCART users. This is a more advanced way of searching SmartCART. Also, click on the Advanced Search to be able to search by Owner. The "Owner" of the PO is whoever submitted it in PeopleSoft Financials, not a Window Shopper.

If you receive the error "The application was unable to determine your session..," or several other errors, please contact the Helpdesk at 368-HELP first. This is most likely a browser issue that they can assist with resolving. This especially happens when you have a new computer. The SmartCART team will email all users if there is a PeopleSoft Financials or SmartCART issue.

Enhanced Requisition Descriptions Requested

PeopleSoft LogoIn order to enhance CWRU’s price comparison capabilities for items purchased via PeopleSoft’s eProcurement  it is recommended that Requisition Creators include as much specific manufacturer product information as feasible on Line Item details.

Specifically, please use three (3) # signs before and after the manufacturers’ or vendors’ part number.  For example, “###manufacturers part number###" or “###Q2431-69018###”.

This simple change permits our spend data to be extracted by an algorithm for price comparison purposes. In addition it will provide valuable, actionable procurement data which will help CWRU better understand costs and support university-wide goals.  If you have any questions, please contact the customer care team at customercareteam-pds@case.edu.

Supplier Diversity - SuppliersSupplier Diversity Puzzle

Supplier Diversity is an important component in vendor selection and the awarding of contracts to do business with CWRU. In the first three months of this year, Fisher Scientific reported spending 23.3% of CWRU purchases via Fisher to its “Diverse Third Party Suppliers”.  Most of this Spend was with Small Businesses (78%) with representation by Small Veteran-Owned Businesses (6%), Small Minority-Owned Businesses (3.5%), and Small Minority-Women-Owned Businesses (4.3%).  Fisher Scientific has agreed to increase these amounts over the next 9 months to further help meet CWRU’s on-going Diversity spending goals. This initiative is just one of the many benefits provided by the new multi-year preferred supplier agreement between CWRU and Fisher Scientific.
