Communications Report:
The committee is looking into methods to reach staff (approximately 300 employees) that do not utilize e-mail, and thus are not receiving informational posts from SAC representatives. The committee is also working to develop a policy for the use of constituent e-mail lists in charitable solicitations. Communications Committee will meet at noon on Tuesday, December 10, in 351 Adelbert Hall.
Community Services Report:
The Community Service Committee wishes to thank all of the departments that donated the 45 baskets for the Second Annual Basket Raffle at this year's Benefits Fair. The raffle proceeds of $4,105 and an additional $895 donated by the President/Provost office allowed the committee to give $2,500 to Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary School and to the Joseph F. Landis School of Tomorrow. The committee is looking forward to meeting with the principals of these two schools at the next two meetings to find out how the University might further help the schools. The committee submitted a resolution for a campus-wide community service day (authored by committee member Erin Walsh). The resolution was accepted unanimously. Community Service Committee will meet at noon on Tuesday, December 10, in 720 Crawford Hall.
Elections Report:
The committee would like to make a care basket again for Fire Station #10 for their continued service to the campus community. Donations will be accepted in 609 Crawford Hall through December 17. Officer nominations will be taken at the February Council meeting for vice chair. Elections Committee will meet Tuesday, December 17, at 10:30 a.m. in 609 Crawford Hall.
Fringe Benefits Report:
The committee is looking into retiree medical benefits, tuition reimbursement and tuition exchange consortium. Fringe Benefits Committee will meet at noon on Monday, December 16, in 353 Adelbert Hall.
Staff Policy Report:
No report given. Staff Policy Committee will meet Wednesday, January 29, at 10:30 a.m. in 352 Adelbert Hall
Staff Recognition Report:
The committee sent a memo recommending that the President's Award be increased. The call for nominations will go out electronically in January and will be due to the committee on March 15. The Staff Recognition Committee will begin planning Party on the Quad at its next meeting at noon on Tuesday, January 21, in 1 Adelbert Hall.
Staff Training and Development Report:
The next Video on Wheels is "The Guest," and will be shown at noon on Monday, December 16, in 209 Crawford Hall. Staff Training and Development Committee will meet at noon on Wednesday, December 18, at 1 Adelbert Hall.
