Fringe Benefits Report:

The committee has compiled a report on adoption leave policies at sister schools and competitive employers. The majority of employers offer the benefit including UH and the Cleveland Clinic. The committee will bring forward a resolution of support for implementation of adoption leave in addition to FMLA to the Council at the next meeting. The committee reviewed the changes in staff retirement plans B and C with a consultant. The combined plans achieve a 70% replacement of income for most staff. However, the combined plans fail to meet the 70% goal for staff members whose salaries are above the Social Security Wage Base ($40,000). Increasing Plan C participation to 100% is a goal the committee would like to pursue. The Fringe Benefits questionnaires will be redistributed to accommodate the issuance of new SAC constituent lists. Paper copies of the questionnaire will be distributed amongst staff members that do not have access to e-mail. According to University Administration, short-term disability insurance become an employee benefit effective Fringe Benefits Committee will meet Monday, December 17, at 12:00 noon in 352 Adelbert Hall.
