Communications Report:
Communications is working on the new lists of constituent e-mails for the upcoming term (beginning in September). The committee has identified some of the discrepancies between Elections' and our databases, and is in the process of consolidating these. Lists should be ready by the orientation breakfast for new and returning representatives. Communications Committee has no scheduled meetings.
Community Services Report:
The committee collected a total of $1,604.34 for the Perry Children's Memorial Trust Fund was deposited at Bank One in June and family was notified. CWRU National Youth Sports Program did not receive information and could not initiate enlisting volunteers. The committee will begin planning for the basket raffle to take place during the next benefits fair. Community Service Committee will meet Tuesday, September 10, at 12 noon in Tomlinson Food Court.
Elections Report:
The committee has mailed out ballots for School of Engineering, College of Arts and Sciences, School of Law, School of Medicine and Weatherhead School of Management, which are due back August 16. The orientation is scheduled for Tuesday, September 17. Elections Committee will meet Tuesday, August 20, at 10:30 a.m. in 604 Crawford Hall.
Fringe Benefits Report:
The committee has mailed the three resolutions in support of parents' leave, adoption leave, and financial assistance to help defray adoption costs to University Administration and are awaiting a response. The committee is looking into retiree medical benefits. Fringe Benefits Committee will meet Monday, August 19, at 12 noon in Adelbert Hall, Room 1.
Staff Policy Report:
The committee presented to the Council a draft resolution from Human Resources entitled, "Animals on Campus," which is potential University policy meant to uphold the state and local laws concerning the keeping of animals on campus. The committee requests the Council to solicit input and feedback on the draft policy. Staff Policy Committee will meet Wednesday, August 28, at 10:30 a.m. in 352 Adelbert Hall.
Staff Recognition Report:
That '70s Party on the Quad (July 26) appeared to be a success with 475 people attending. The contest and raffle winners are posted on the HR web site along with the answers to the '70s history quiz. The Staff Recognition Committee will meet to debrief on Tuesday, August 20, at 12 noon in 351 Adelbert Hall.
Staff Training and Development Report:
The committee is recruiting more staff to assist in the Employee Resource Partnering Program. This program serves as an information channel for new employees as they make the transition to the campus community. The next Video on Wheels is "A Fish Philosophy," and will be shown Monday, August 19, at 12 noon in 209 Crawford Hall. Staff Training and Development will meet Wednesday, August 14, at 12 noon in 1 Adelbert Hall.
