June 2005 Newsletter
Most of the Council's work is done through committees where a variety of issues are addressed. Each committee reports their activities to the general Council when it meets six times a year. Below are summaries of the committees' reports. You are encouraged to forward this newsletter to your colleagues on campus.
You do not have to be an elected member of SAC to serve on a committee. All committees would welcome any level of participation. If you are interested in serving on a committee, please contact the Committee Chair listed on our web site at http://www.cwru.edu/president/sac/sac.html

Community Services Report:
The Community Service Committee reports a very successful “A Taste of Case” cookbook sale: 278 copies were sold and another $300 in sponsor ads were raised. The net profit of $1427.30 was divided equally between Joseph Landis and Mary Bethune Elementary schools. Special thanks to Lisa Sabato and her team at Case Printing Services for helping us to produce a first class product. The committee is considering doing this project again, perhaps biennially. Fringe Benefits Report:
The Fringe Benefits Committee discussed a recent presentation by a consulting firm on the University’s fringe benefits package, which was found to be average. Further discussion included whether average fit into the University’s vision, or whether we should strive for something more. Also of note, the university will offer a vision plan starting in July. Finally, the committee may change its meeting day and time for next year. Co-Chairs: Kathryn Howard (Kathryn.howard@case.edu), Kathleen Blazar (Kcb2@case.edu), Denise Douglas (Denise.Douglas@case.edu)

Tony Kinslow has approved extending the party time to 6:30pm. Committee members are working with various vendors and with SAC to provide prizes for the block party. The next meeting is scheduled for noon June 23, 2005 in Tomlinson. Co-Chairs: Patsy Harris (Patsy.harris@case.edu) and Rose Foster (Rosalyn.foster@case.edu).

Co-Chairs: Kathy Dowdell (Kathleen.dowdell@case.edu), Kathy O'Linn (kco@case.edu).
