Communications Report:
A redesign of SAC information handout for new employees was completed and will be forwarded to Human Resources for approval to be included in the orientation material. The “SAC Insert” publication has been postponed, pending a redesign and cost analysis. Communications Committee will meet Tuesday, April 10, at 12 noon in 351 Adelbert Hall.
Community Services Report:
The Committee sponsored a bake sale on March 29 and raised over $500 for the benefit of Miracle Village, a recovery community that offers a comprehensive chemical dependency treatment program for addicted women and their children in public housing. The Committee looks forward to more activities in the upcoming months. Service Committee will meet Thursday, April 19, at 12 noon in Charlie's Place at Thwing Center.
Elections Report:
Ballots are being mailed to SAC members for officer elections. Completed ballots are due Monday, April 23, 2001. Please contact committee chair Theresa Emerson by phone (ext. 2982) or via e-mail with any questions regarding this election. Elections Committee will meet Tuesday, April 10, at 3:00 p.m. in 604 Crawford Hall.
Fringe Benefits Report:
The SAC Fringe Benefits Committee has proposed two Resolutions that will be one of the Agenda items for the meeting of April 5, 2001. The first Resolution concerns the current Retirement Plan and the second Resolution addresses the need for a Short-term Disability Plan. Fringe Benefits Committee will meet Monday, April 16, at 8:30 a.m. in 352 Adelbert Hall.
Staff Policy Report:
The committee is discussing the issue of second-hand smoke on campus. The Staff Policy Committee will meet Wednesday, April 18, at 10:30 a.m. in 353 Adelbert Hall.
Staff Recognition Report:
Committee is reviewing the 14 nominations received for the President's Award for Distinguished Service and will make recommendations to the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration this month. Please mark Friday, July 27, 2001, on your calendar for the annual Party on the Quad. The Staff Recognition Committee will meet Tuesday, April 17, at 12 noon in 1 Adelbert Hall.
Staff Training and Development Report:
Three new videos have been added to the Resource Center in Kelvin Smith Library on the topic of retirement. The committee will brainstorm at the next meeting about organizing a Resource Center Fair to help get word out about training materials available to supervisors and staff. Staff Training and Development will meet Wednesday, April 14, at 12 noon in 1 Adelbert Hall.
