Future Goals
- Community Service to Campus Community
- Committee agreed that community service didn't necessarily mean involvement only in activities off-campus. Our goal is to become more involved in SAC activities (offering our services to other Committees who are planning events) and CWRU activities in general.
- Committee agreed to become involved in a wider variety of activities, for example, in addition to fund-raising or collecting items for the needy, participate in hands-on, "roll up the sleeves" types of activities like Habitat for Humanity or volunteering time at Rainbow Babies & Childrens Hospital.
- Surpass our Fund-raising Goal for March of Dimes WalkAmerica 1999. Our goal for 1998 was $1,000, which we triumphantly reached. (We are still waiting for an exact figure from the March of Dimes.) For the 1999 WalkAmerica event, our goal will be $1,500.
- Recruit new members who are serious and willing to participate in our Committee Activities.
Forecast
- Anticipated activities may include:
- Habitat for Humanity (Fall).
- American Cancer Society Walk (September).
- A toy, clothing or food drive for Thanksgiving or the holiday season for a women's shelter.
- Volunteer in some way at Rainbow Babies & Childrens Hospital or some other children-related center/group (anytime).
- March of Dimes WalkAmerica (March/April 1999).
- Participate in one or two campus- or SAC-related activities.
NOTE: Meetings for the 1998-99 year will be held on the third Thursday of the month at 1 p.m.
