The Office of the General Counsel is committed to providing the highest quality, effective legal advice, as well as strategic, ethical, and other practical guidance to further the mission of the University and to minimize legal risks and costs.

The Office of General Counsel provides legal advice and representation to Case Western Reserve University, to its constituent units and affiliated entities, and to its trustees, officers, employees, and student leaders while acting on the University's behalf. Our services include: advice and counsel on all matters impacting the University; the oversight of litigation; contract review; and preventive law workshops and educational programs. We are dedicated to integrity, knowledge of the law, and service that is efficient, reliable and professional.  If you have any legal questions or concerns, please contact one of our attorneys or our department administrator.  We will make sure your question is routed to the appropriate attorney and we will reply promptly.

Please note that the office is unable to provide legal advice or representation to individual members of the University community in connection with matters against the University, where your interest may be adverse to the University, or with personal matters.
