Research and Training

Research and training revenues, including indirect costs, make up approximately 44% of the university’s operating revenues. Total research revenues for 2010-11 were $416.2 million.

Federal Research Rankings

Colleges and universities report annually to the National Science Foundation on expenditures for research and development. In fiscal year 2009, the most recent for which data are available, CWRU ranked 26th among all institutions, and 13th among private institutions, in federal research expenditures.
