College Trivia ClubHall of FameAllison Manzuk, Brandon Eilertson, and Josh LevitInducted April 12, 2005These three defined Case Quiz Bowl during their four years at the university (1999-2003). Allison quickly became the Tournament Director after the departure of Tom and gave the local high schools and colleges efficiently-run tournaments that have been universally praised by those attended. Brandon and Josh helped Case continue its tradition of competitive excellence in both academic and TRASH, as Case was represented respectably all four of their years at NAQT's ICT and TRASHionals. With their class's graduation, the Quiz Bowl team lost a set of counter-balanced individuals that made the team work smoothly. Emil Thomas ChuckInducted April 12, 2005Advisor Emeritus, Tom helped the group maintain order and balance during his time at Case. From his creation of the Celebrity Shoot to the presentation of Buzzerpalooza and GLRAC as annual tournaments, Tom was an outstanding guide to the students of Case in pursuing Quiz Bowl as an activity. Tom is now located in Raleigh, NC and serves as an advisor to the Duke University students. Jessica M. McGearyInducted March 1, 1996Graduated in 1996, she was a four-time all-star selection in College Bowl Regionals with amazing buzzer speed and trivia knowledge. She is perhaps best known for her costumes when it came to competing at Regionals. Quite a number of times, she has worn face paint and listened to the opening work of Carmina Burana ("O, Fortuna") before competition. Because of her outstanding performance at College Bowl Regionals, taking the CWRU team twice to the playoffs and the other two times just shy of making the playoffs, the CWRU Trivia Club will name our Most Outstanding Player award at every buzzer competition we host after her. Mary Jo ButlerInducted September 1, 1996Perhaps the most feared competitor at CWRU Intramural competition was Chris Butler's mother who passed away in 1994. Known for lightning-fast reflexes, she confounded many student teams competing at College Bowl IM's. Michael J. HakeInducted February 7, 1998A four-year member of the Trivia Club (1998 graduate), he was an excellent student as well as a very passionate quiz bowl player. He is currently in the Medical Scientist Training Program at CWRU School of Medicine pursuing both the M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. To commemorate Mike's excellence in academic competition as well as his academic resume, the Trivia Club will name one member as the Michael Hake "High Academic Knowledge Excellence" Award for outstanding performance in academic competition. William E. NottinghamInducted February 7, 1998A four-year member of the Trivia Club (1997 graduate), he was a very good player and question writer when it came to topics on popular culture and other "trash." He is currently in graduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. In his senior year, Bill was on the CWRU "trash tournament" team that finished third at Michigan State University and -- in his last tournament -- first at the University of Michigan. He was also on the CWRU College Bowl team that finished several times near the top of the divisional bracket. To commemorate Bill's dedication to the team, the Trivia Club will name at least one member as the Bill Nottingham "Excellence in Trivia" player of the year for outstanding knowledge of miscellaneous trivia.
