The Spartan Tappers:
-
Offer free tap dance lessons to Case students on Tuesday nights during the
school year.
-
Are currently also open to graduate students free of charge, and offer community adults (HS graduate and older) lessons for $50 a semester.
-
Are a co-ed group.
-
Have three levels available: Beginners (no experience to about one year's worth), Intermediate (some
experience), and Advanced (a lot of experience). See our Level Determination page to figure out your level.
-
Perform a few times near the end of of every semester, with members having the
option to perform. We perform at a variety of functions, such as ExtravaDance,
the Concordia Care Elderly Day Center, Movie Nights with the Film
Society, and other performances. If you'd like us to perform at your event, please fill out our
Performance Request form.
-
Practice learning exercises and do performance routines with posted steps and (password-protected) music.
-
Were created as an undergraduate organization in Fall 2003 by Lauren Smith, our first president. Our current officers
work hard every semester to run the group smoothly!
-
Put on a SatCo (or Saturday College session) every semester to serve as a one-day intro to tap for the Case campus.
-
Have a variety of performances and sometimes other events, such as social outings, available to see on our Calendar.
-
Welcome new members who have never tap danced, or even danced at all, at the
beginning of each semester. We even have Tap Shoe resources and group orders. Questions? See our FAQ.
-
Encourage everyone interested in the Tappers to join our mailing list.
-
Use Mather Dance Center Studio III. Since this is an unusual privilege granted by the Dance Department, we require all members to sign the
Mather Dance Center Contract before attending lessons.
-
All think you should COME & LEARN TO TAP DANCE! Why? Because it's great!
