- Choose 13 members from student body – apps due next Monday – review all budget submissions for student groups

- Wants a default payment of $110 – approved. As of next year, clubs and orgs separated – no default payments
- 2 speaker fund requests – SIPLA approved for $100 and ACS – approved $250

- Elected Chief Justice: Johnny Hutchinson
- Goals: work on audit procedures for budget, rules of civ pro so students know how to bring matters to court, and draft appeals process
- 1L Elections
- 7 or 8 seats open – class is on border. As of today, between 227 and 232 – break is at 230.
- Good turnout at info session
- 3L seat open and LLS seat – elections Sept 18 & 19 – voting online
- Apps and rules – in Sba office

- Sen. Kuhn – question about 3L senators – # of reps determined during 1L year and does not change
- Sen. Schmitt – election committee advertising? 2 computers at polling station and signs, advertising, etc.
- Sen. Nardulli – space around voting – can you put posters of flyers on that stairwell? Can post, but can’t actively stand there and say vote for me

- Constitution and bylaws – no substantive change, bylaws updated, cleaned up formatting

- Library Committee: Say – issue – library doesn’t open on time at 7:30am – trying to work on that.

- Sen. Kuhn: keeping it open longer during exams and longer on Saturday? 24 hour library exam week
- Sen. Nardulli – student complaining about phone’s volume on 1st floor

- Sen. Hudson – need a new member on student faculty relations committee – Secretary Aldes, Sen. Bliss, Treasurer Chan
- Sen. Schmitt: organization book - response rate from orgs not good – 15% clubs responded. Not doing book because of low turnout. Will do one for the summer – mail to incoming 1Ls before they come to campus
- New Business
- ABA Rep Katie Mowat: Recap of Annual Meeting & Best Website Award
- Went to conference in August: asked law student division to send rep to Equador to conference and endorse the conference – they will send someone
- Case – nominated for 2 awards for diversity initiative and won best SBA website award – presented plaque
- Sen. Tsai: Technology fee: grad student senate – $400 fee that university is considering applying to all students for technology (line item life health fee). Most schools don’t charge more than $100. Senate asking us to support them. At end of Sept., university budget committee giving report to university and take a vote. Sen. Tsai would work on resolution to say it’s not in our best interest to have this fee.

- Sen. Paeffgen: minutes posted online and accessible to employers – want to make a rule that if senator wants name taken off and replaced with email, it’s ok.
- Sen. Counsel Kringel: propose – 1st initial and last name. What is the concern? Students can know, but not for employers
- Sen. Hudson: can we ever go off the record with certain issues? Strike from record
- Sen. Zink: just abstain
- Sen. Bliss: initial for 1st name
- Sen. Schmitt: against this – stand up for your opinion
- Pres. Choy: minutes published in docket – altering for initials just for site doesn’t harm general intent. Propose if a senator doesn’t want full name, will change on online minutes to initials --- Sen. Kringel – research
