Student Bar Association

All registered law students are members of the Student Bar Association. Through the SBA, students have an active, powerful voice in shaping the law school's curricular and co-curricular life. Students serve on some faculty committees: Admissions, Buildings and Grounds, Career Services, Curriculum, and Library and Information Systems and on the SBA's Budget Committee, Social Committee, and Election Commission. The Honor Court includes students and faculty in equal numbers. Representatives from each class serve on the SBA Senate; the Executive Board consists of the SBA's president, vice president, executive secretary, treasurer, and senate counsel. These groups allocate money among student organizations, coordinate the workings of all committees, address issues confronting the law school community, and advocate the students' best interests to the administration and faculty. Committee members are appointed and Senate representatives and Executive Board members are elected. All students are encouraged to serve on committees and take an active part in SBA activities. The SBA is a charter member of the American Law School Association, an affiliate of the American Bar Association. Through the SBA, students represent Case within the American, Ohio, Cuyahoga County, and Cleveland Bar Associations.

Our Mission

The SBA is comprised of an executive board, which includes the president, vice president, executive secretary, treasurer, and senate counsel, and the senate, elected representatives from each class.

The SBA maintains faculty committees such as Admissions, Alumni Relations, Buildings and Grounds, Career Services, Curriculum, Honor Code, Library and Information Systems, Student Life, and Financial Aid.

The SBA is responsible for allocating money to the law school's student organizations, facilitating the work of all SBA committees, addressing issues within the law school community, and advocating on behalf of the student body before the administration and faculty.

Committee members are appointed by the president. Senate representatives and executive board members are elected.

All registered law students are members of the Student Bar Association and are encouraged to serve on the various committees and to take an active part in SBA activities.
