SURVIVAL TIPS

College Survival Tips: Remember These

We know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love Him (Romans 8:28)

I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)

For gold is tested in the fire. and acceptable men in the furnace of humiliation. Trust in Him, and He will help you; make your ways straight, and hope in Him. (Sirach 2: 5-6)

Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being. Do it for the Lord rather than for men, for you know full well that you will receive an inheritance from Him as your reward. (Colossians 3:23, 24)

In God I trust without a fear. What can man do to me? (Psalm 56:11)

Give, and it will be given to you. Full measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over will be put into your lap. For the measure which you give will be the measure which you get back. (Luke 6:38)

You are the salt of the earth. . . You are the light of the world. (Matt. 5:13, 14)

For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst. (Matt 18:20)

Pray constantly. (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you. . . So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?” . . . your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matt.6:25- 34)

Prayer of St. Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
...where there is injury, pardon;
...where there is doubt, faith;
...where there is despair, hope;
...where there is darkness, light;
...where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
...to be consoled as to console;
...to be understood as to understand;
...to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
...it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
...and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Morning Offering (to start the day)

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day, for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass offered throughout the world, in reparation for my sins, and for the intentions of our family, and friends, and Pope John Paul II. Amen.

Prayer to St. Michael

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke Him we humbly pray. And do thou prince of the Heavenly Hosts, through the power of God, thrust into Hell, Satan and all the evil spirits who wander through the world seeking the ruins of souls. Amen.
